The AMF 140UNIG/142UNIG gate lock, specifically designed for swing gates, offers you the choice of purchasing just the lock or in combination with a welding box. This flexibility makes it an ideal choice for various installation needs. The lock features a front plate made from durable stainless steel, available in three widths: 24 mm, 33 mm, and 36 mm, ensuring a perfect fit for different gate styles.

The latch of the lock has a projection of 3 mm, a detail essential for proper operation and security. Designed for both left and right-handed installations, this versatile lock offers flexibility in use. It is prepared for a profile cylinder (PC) and can also be equipped with a bit key insert, making it adaptable to your specific security requirements.

With a spindle size of 72 mm, a backset of 60 mm, and a two-turn mechanism, the AMF 140UNIG/142UNIG lock provides both functionality and reliability. When choosing the model with a welding box, a handle rosette no. 494 is also included, which facilitates installation and guarantees an aesthetically pleasing finish. It is of great importance to properly maintain your lock, especially if it is frequently exposed to the elements. Dirt and corrosion can accumulate, particularly during cold and harsh weather. Therefore, we recommend lubricating your door lock at least twice a year or ideally at every change of season. 

To ensure that your lock operates smoothly again, we recommend the use of lubricants such as WD-40 SPECIALIST® WHITE LITHIUM SPRAY GREASE. The correct use of these oils is essentiall.

Generally, there are two solutions for lock maintenance: prevention/protection and problem-solving. 

If a lock is difficult to open, it can be due to two reasons: 

​ ​ ​1. The key and the lock have not yet properly adjusted to each other, which often occurs with a new lock

​ ​ ​2. There is a build-up of dirt or rust formation in the lock


In these cases, we recommend using WD-40 SPECIALIST® WHITE LITHIUM SPRAY GREASE to solve the problem. This prevents rust formation in the lock. However, it is important that you apply the oil in the right place in the lock so that the WD-40 reaches the moving parts to ensure good lubrication.
