Lift-slide hardware for window doors and balcony doors is designed for sliding façade elements in timber, PVC, aluminium, steel, or combinations of these materials. This hardware enables sliding sashes to be opened, lifted, closed, locked, and, depending on the version, tilted or parallel-adjusted safely and efficiently.
These hardware systems are used on vertically installed window and door elements that mainly serve as exterior closures. In combination with fixed sections or additional window elements, they provide a durable and functional sliding construction. Depending on the configuration, the system can be used for sliding windows, lift-slide windows, tilt-slide windows, or parallel-sliding units.
The hardware is equipped with locking components and roller carriages mounted on the lower horizontal section of the sash. Depending on the system design, additional elements such as tilt stays, lifting mechanisms, or parallel-adjustment components can be integrated. This creates a complete hardware solution that combines comfort, convenience, and reliable operation.
For applications with additional requirements, such as burglar resistance, humid or wet rooms, or environments with aggressive or corrosive air conditions, specially adapted materials and hardware combinations must be selected. These applications always require separate technical evaluation.
Open window doors and balcony doors only provide a screening function and do not meet the requirements for air tightness, driving rain resistance, sound insulation, thermal insulation, or burglar resistance while open. In windy or draughty conditions, the units must always be closed and locked. The final resistance to wind load depends on the complete window or door construction and must, where required, be coordinated with the relevant standards and application criteria.
Suitable lift-slide systems can also be used for low-threshold or barrier-free applications, provided that the hardware, threshold, and frame construction are correctly matched.
