AMF 140U/142U Gate Lock for Swing Gates

Discover the AMF 140U/142U gate lock, specifically designed for swing gates, which offers flexibility in purchasing: you can choose just the lock or a combination with a welding box. This lock features a galvanized steel faceplate available in five different widths: 24 mm, 28 mm, 33 mm, 43 mm, and 53 mm, making it adaptable to various gate sizes and styles.

The latch of this lock has a projection of 3 mm, a detail that is important for proper integration and function of the lock. Suitable for both left and right-handed installations, it can be prepared for a profile cylinder (PC) or equipped with a bit key insert, depending on your security preferences.

With a spindle size of 72 mm, a backset of 60 mm, and a double-turn mechanism, the AMF 140U/142U gate lock offers both functionality and durability. If you opt for the model with a welding box, handle rosette no. 494 is included, which ensures easier installation and enhanced aesthetics. It is of great importance to properly maintain your lock, especially if it is frequently exposed to the elements. Dirt and corrosion can accumulate, particularly during cold and harsh weather. Therefore, we recommend lubricating your door lock at least twice a year or ideally at every change of season.

To ensure that your lock operates smoothly again, we recommend the use of lubricants such as WD-40 SPECIALIST® WHITE LITHIUM SPRAY GREASE. The correct use of these oils is essentiall.

Generally, there are two solutions for lock maintenance: prevention/protection and problem-solving.

If a lock is difficult to open, it can be due to two reasons:

​ ​ ​1. The key and the lock have not yet properly adjusted to each other, which often occurs with a new lock

​ ​ ​2. There is a build-up of dirt or rust formation in the lock


In these cases, we recommend using WD-40 SPECIALIST® WHITE LITHIUM SPRAY GREASE to solve the problem. This prevents rust formation in the lock. However, it is important that you apply the oil in the right place in the lock so that the WD-40 reaches the moving parts to ensure good lubrication.
