AMF 140SNIG/142SNIG Gate Hook Lock

Discover the AMF 140SNIG/142SNIG Gate Hook Lock, a versatile and reliable security solution, available as just the lock or in combination with a welding box. This lock features a front plate made of durable stainless steel, available in two widths: 24 mm and 33 mm, to meet various installation requirements. Both the day and night latches, made from robust cast stainless steel with a hook width of 9 mm, ensure a secure closure.

Specially designed for both left and right-handed gates, this lock is prepared for a profile cylinder (PC) and can also be equipped with a bit key insertfor added versatility. With a spindle size of 72 mm, a backset of 60 mm, and a single-turn mechanism, the lock offers both functionality and security. This model comes with one locking pin. When opting for a model with a welding box, a handle rosette no. 494 is also provided, simplifying installation and enhancing aesthetics. It is of great importance to properly maintain your lock, especially if it is frequently exposed to the elements. Dirt and corrosion can accumulate, particularly during cold and harsh weather. Therefore, we recommend lubricating your door lock at least twice a year or ideally at every change of season.

To ensure that your lock operates smoothly again, we recommend the use of lubricants such as WD-40 SPECIALIST® WHITE LITHIUM SPRAY GREASE. The correct use of these oils is essentiall.

Generally, there are two solutions for lock maintenance: prevention/protection and problem-solving.

If a lock is difficult to open, it can be due to two reasons:

​ ​ ​1. The key and the lock have not yet properly adjusted to each other, which often occurs with a new lock

​ ​ ​2. There is a build-up of dirt or rust formation in the lock


In these cases, we recommend using WD-40 SPECIALIST® WHITE LITHIUM SPRAY GREASE to solve the problem. This prevents rust formation in the lock. However, it is important that you apply the oil in the right place in the lock so that the WD-40 reaches the moving parts to ensure good lubrication.

Het is van groot belang om je slot goed te onderhouden, vooral als het veel wordt blootgesteld aan de natuurelementen. Vuil en corrosie kunnen zich ophopen, vooral tijdens koud en guur weer. Daarom raden wij aan om je deurslot minstens twee keer per jaar te smeren of idealiter bij elke seizoenswisseling. 

Om ervoor te zorgen dat je slot weer soepel loopt, raden wij het gebruik van smeermiddelen aan, zoals WD-40 WIT LITHIUM SPUITVET. Het correct gebruik van deze oliën is essentieel.

Over het algemeen zijn er twee oplossingen voor slotonderhoud: preventie/bescherming en probleemoplossing. 

Als een slot moeilijk opengaat, kan dit te wijten zijn aan twee redenen: 

​ ​ ​1. De sleutel en het slot zijn nog niet goed op elkaar afgestemd, dit komt vaak voor bij een nieuw slot

​ ​ ​2. Er is vuilophoping of roestvorming in het slot

Bij deze gevallen raden wij aan WD-40 WIT LITHIUM SPUITVET te gebruiken om het probleem op te lossen. Dit voorkomt dat er roestvorming in het slot ontstaat. Het is echter belangrijk dat je de olie op de juiste plek in het slot aanbrengt zodat de WD-40 tot bij de bewegende delen geraakt om een goede smering te garanderen.
